Stained Glass Windows

When the Sanctuary was built,
the architects used a lot of
Christian symbolism in their
design. The most visible of these
symbols are the eleven stained
glass windows on the front and
sides of the sanctuary.

Near the tops of each window is
an image that pertains to the
Christian Year, starting with the
Advent. The window pictured
here is the McCloy Memorial
Window which was dedicated to
the memory of Mrs. J.D. McCloy,
Sr., on October 14, 1956 when
the building was constructed.

You can read about the windows

Symbolic Architecture

The Sanctuary itself was built to symbolize the Church itself being the Ark of
Salvation and there are special ecclesiastical names that refer to the various
parts of the church. Some of these are the Nave, the Narthex, the Baptismal
Font. You can read a more detailed article about the symbolic architecture of the
Sanctuary
here.

Pipe Organ

The pipe organ in the sanctuary is the only pipe organ in Monticello at this point
in time. It is a 20-Rank Moller Organ Opus 9410. You can read more information
